The Man With The "Grasshopper Mind"

The title of this article also happens to be one of the "20 Greatest Headlines Ever Written."

Did you know, just changing the headline has been known to dramatically improve the effectiveness of an ad or sales letter by up to 1700 percent? Yes, headlines are that powerful--and that important!

However, over the last few years, I've noticed a proliferation of badly written--or just plain weak headlines--both online and off!

Particularly disturbing is the copycat syndrome. I can't even begin to tell you how many variations I've seen of the "Who Else" headline. For example:

"Who Else Wants To Write Great Headlines?"

By the way, the "Who Else" headline isn't new. It goes back many decades.

Here's the problem with copying a popular headline. When you have so many individuals copying a headline, it loses its effectiveness, appeal and uniqueness very quickly--especially on the Internet!

I have a much better alternative. Instead of copying someone else's headline, put in the hard work that's required and come up with your own classic headline.

Headlines that evoke some type of emotional response are the most effective and generally make more sales. Emotions motivate people into action. The stronger the emotion, the quicker the action. Therefore, headlines that make the reader excited about gaining something--or even more effective--afraid of losing something, will invariably produce the best results.

Using the proper words and phrases is critical. Below I've listed just a few of the words and phrases that, over the years, have proven to be very effective at grabbing the readers attention:

Save... Amazing... Finally... Love... Secrets Of... Announcing... Free... Luxury... Security... At Last... New... Bargains... Obsession... Breakthrough... Protect... The Truth About... Discover... How To... Rewards... Yes... Sale... You... Are You... Sex... Win... Improve... Do You...

After grabbing your readers attention, this is where you want to answer the question, "What's in it for me?" To do this, you have to know a little about your target audience. What are they interested in? What are their priorities? What makes them respond?

Craft your headlines to use words and phrases that will pique your potential buyers interest. If you are targeting people interested in starting their own home business, try phrases such as "Stay Home And Make Money" or "Kiss Your Job Goodbye Forever". If your product happens to be diet pills, try "Lose 10 Pounds In 10 Days".

A word of caution: There is a point where headlines tend to get unbelievable. Make sure that your claims are truthful and that your copy supports their truthfulness.

Once you have a firm grasp of the aforementioned basics, look around your house and select several different products, and write as many headlines as you can think of for each product.

Write variations of the same headline until you have exhausted all the ideas you can think of. This will be both frustrating and difficult at first, but it will become easier with practice. Remember, nothing worthwhile ever comes easy.

After you have your list of headlines, make sure each one passes the test for the following criteria for a good headline. 1. Does it grab the readers attention? 2. Does it answer the question, "What's in it for me?" 3. Is it truthful? If a potential headline does not meet these three criteria, rewrite it or eliminate it from your list altogether.

Continue using the process of elimination, one headline at a time, until you're left with what you feel are the three best and strongest headlines, based on the criteria presented in this article.

How will you know which headline is the best one overall?

Unfortunately, there's no way to know for sure until you test them against each other. The headline that pulls the most sales or responses is your winner!

To help you get the creative juices flowing, I've listed below my version of "The 20 Greatest Headlines Ever Written,". I've listed them in my own personal order of preference. Study them, dissect them, figure out what makes them great--then get to work writing your own. Enjoy!

Changes in Caravan Insurance Services

Caravan insurance services have come a long way in recent years. This is particularly so in terms of providing easy to use internet facilities to help find appropriate cover for your caravan.

Insurance services sites can often provide you with quotes for different insurers giving you a greater element of choice.

Useful information

They may also be able to offer you options and ideas for maximising discounts to help keep down the price of your premiums.

So, for example, if you belong to a recognised caravan club, then you typically may be able to find which insurance will reward your membership with a discount.

Similarly, when not in use, if you are prepared to store your caravan in one of the Caravan Storage Site Owners Association (CaSSOA) sites, you may find that this will result in a reduction in your premium with some caravan cover providers.

These sites may offer secure storage facilities, which may make all the difference to keeping your caravan safe during extended periods of inactivity.

Caravan insurance and unoccupied caravans

In passing, if you are planning to leave your caravan unused and unoccupied for a period, for example during the closed season, it might be sensible to contemplate the total insurance position.

Some caravan insurance policies may have special provisions for caravans over, for example, the winter months. It may make good sense to have a quick reread of your policy terms and conditions to make sure that you are doing everything that is necessary meet these requirements.

Those requirements may include the necessity of making sure that water and heating systems in static homes are drained down to reduce the risks of flooding and damage from burst or simply leaky pipes.

References

Caravan insurance sites may help you find the cover for your caravan that is suitable for you. You will also find that some sites provide a wealth of information and advice to help keep you up to date with changes and developments in the world of caravans.

You may typically be able to complete everything online, with some providers also offering caravan insurance services that include the opportunity to receive policy documents by email and print them out yourself. That may save both time and effort!

Discover the Top 4 Tips for Parenting Older Adopted Children

It's all paid off. Your adoption journey has taken the most amazing turn ever, and you are preparing to welcome your new child into your life! Everyone involved has some type of emotions that they are dealing with, from sheer excitement and happiness to doubt and fear. These are all very natural emotions. But emotions are not solid predictors for what the future holds, so try to keep yours and your child's in perspective as you adjust to each other.

Your decision to adopt an older child will bring with it some complexity with regard to your lives. It's the reality of your situation. However, there are many things that you and your spouse can do to make this transition for your family a very positive experience that could create many wonderful memories and allow each of you to grow from.

Here are a few tips that parents of older adopted children may find useful:

1. Keep your child active. A bored or idle child is never good. Not only does it encourage laziness, but it also can provide too much time for focusing on negatives. Before you bring your child home, you should have researched and planned activities that he or she can do on their own and with your family.

2. Try not to stray away from discussing "difficult" topics such as your child's past life and information about the birthparents. These shouldn't be considered taboo in your family. Failing to discuss them will create a wall and will limit your ability to truly relate and understand your child, your child's feelings, and what you will have to do as a parent to help your child to be the best person that he or she can be. That was your child's life, and your child has the right to talk about it and own those thoughts.

3. Make positive reinforcement a definitive in your family. Reward for the big and the small. Refocus less than positive behavior through discussion and with compassion. Your child needs to know that he or she is "good" and that personal success is attainable. Do your best not to set up unrealistic expectations for your child's adjustment or behavior. It may take time for your child to learn what is acceptable versus inappropriate behavior.

4. Seek support for yourself and for any member of your family that could benefit from it. Whether it's the help of a therapist or a spiritual adviser, you need to know that your family is not alone that there is help available if and when you need it. There may be some issues that your child has to deal with that you won't be able to fully grasp or understand. Enlisting the help of a professional is not something that should cause shame or anxiety. It may be a necessity that could result in making all of your lives much more happy and satisfying.

Believe in yourself and in the power of love. You may have waited a lifetime for your child. It doesn't matter how your family was formed, the most important thing is that you are one. Love unconditionally, realize that this child needs you, bask in the happy times, and learn from the tough times. You're going to make it...together!

Bad Links You're Not Thinking Of

The term "bad links" can apply to a number of different types of links but they can all cause damage to your site in one way or another without your even realizing it most times. Let's take a look at some types of bad links you might not be thinking of which you would benefit from by getting rid of if possible.

Dead Links

Dead links are bad links for a number of reasons. They make your site look sloppy and untended. They will annoy your readers. Spiders can't crawl them. Google even says in their webmaster guidelines (which according to them by following them will give you the best chances of ranking) that you should check for broken or dead links. You can use a free plugin like Broken Link Checker which will routinely check every backlink on your site to make sure that they are all functioning and intact. If when testing a link it cannot access the linked page it will notify you so that you can test it and delete it or look into it accordingly.

Link Profile

You might perform an entire audit of the links coming into your site. Use your Google webmaster tools or again a service like Open Site Explorer or Ahrefs to look at your links. You can also learn things like what anchor text you have pointing to your site so that you can gauge the amount of over optimization you're dealing with.

You may have created links from particular sites and sources to your site in the past which seemed like good ideas at the time before the most recent Google updates were made but now you know that you're better off without them (links from Build My Rank or similar institutions come to mind).

Bad Incoming Links You Didn't Create

If someone ripped off one of your articles, possibly copied it word for word and published it on their spammy scammy site, Google might connect you with the spammy site because you're sharing the same content. It would especially create a problem if you included a link to somewhere else on your site.

While Ezine and similar article directories are very handy and powerful for getting valuable links to your site through article syndication, you have to take the good with the bad as a spammy site can just as easily grab your content and publish it on their site. It could be on a site which has nothing to do with your niche, even, just a massive spammy content aggregation site which took your article and kept your resource box intact so that you now have a link to your site from a site which Google doesn't look upon favorably and it's all through no fault of your own.

You might think about using CopyScape to see who has been republishing your content (with or without your permission, depending on where you've published it yourself). If a spammy site won't take down your content after you try contacting them, you can always contact Google and tell them that you're trying to get it removed and they can make a note to distance you from that site. Just a handful of bad links from the worst possible sources can bring you down, so if you come across something then whatever you can do will help.

You can also use CopyScape to see who has been publishing your content WITHOUT your resource box as sometimes there will be a site which you would like to have a link from but they take your content without giving you the link.

RSS Feeds - Why Your Website Should Have One

Many people who use the Internet incorporate the RSS file format in their websites for web syndication, and their web content can then be universally comprehended by others. Acting as a mini-database, RSS contains headlines and a summary of their web content, along with hyperlinks that allow people to read the complete article that interests them. Generally, this type of website has colorful orange graphics marked with XML or RSS to tell the user that this web content is available via RSS feeds.

RSS has become increasingly popular, and there are many resources that assist those who surf the Internet in setting up and using this application. This can now be done quickly, and without spending a lot of money.

Once your RSS feed is created, you will be ready to have your web content published and displayed on other websites, and this is done by using RSS readers. They hold a collection of feeds from various content providers, and also fall into three main categories:

- Desktop readers that run in the background, collect the feeds, and automatically refresh items when they are updated.

- Web-based aggregators that make it possible for the user to personalize a web page. They refresh that page whenever it is accessed or someone logs into the aggregator.

- Plug-in aggregators/readers that use e-mail clients or web browsers, enabling the user to view an RSS feed within an existing program.

Website owners in particular can enjoy these benefits with RSS feeds:

- The information they provide will be updated automatically whenever the feed is refreshed.

- Users can control the information they view or receive because they are free to remove a feed at any time.

RSS can be especially effective in the fields of e-mail publishing and marketing, search engine optimization and marketing, internet advertising, digital public relations, business blogging, e-commerce, and branding.

In a very simple term, eCommerce can be regarded as the buying and selling of various products over networks of computers or the internet. A blogging site which aims at selling some products also comes under this category as it also deals in various kinds of transactions involving money in different accounts.

ECommerce development can be defined as the development of websites for various companies looking to expand their business using the internet and willing to do it using eCommerce. It not only provides them lots of opportunities but also the security which adds to the features of eCommerce.

This can be achieved with the help of eCommerce developers who are able to create such interfaces which are further used for eCommerce purposes. Today, everyone has two ways to carry out business and they include electronic and non-electronic. Electronic method is getting more famous because of the various advantages. They are elaborated as below:

It reduces the amount of labor, paper required to carry out the business as it totally depends upon the electronic media and the use of paper is minimized. The people are not required to operate devices as in the case of non-electronic ways. It reduces the time taken to perform any task in any business. What's the Difference? (Linoleum Vs Vinyl)

So many people mistakenly think that linoleum and vinyl are the same thing. This couldn't be further from the truth. And if you're interested in installed resilient flooring in your home you need to know the difference.

Linoleum Flooring

Linoleum was the original resilient flooring invented in 1860 by an Englishman named Frederick Walton. In fact it was invented quite by accident when he discovered that dried linseed oil formed a strong yet flexible film on the top of the paint can. Paints used to be made with linseed oil in the mid-19th century.

After years of experimenting he came up with a thin, and strong product that was also comfortable under foot. Linoleum's make-up has changed very little over the years. And due to that it is still one of the most natural and Eco-friendly products on the market today. In addition to linseed oil the other main ingredients are things like pine rosin, cork dust, and a canvas or juke backing. In fact it's so green that it contributes LEED (a measurement of sustainable building) points to your building.

Some of the key benefits of linoleum are: natural antimicrobial and antistatic properties, hypoallergenic, fire retardant, and very strong wear resistance. The colors and patterns of linoleum are more limited than vinyl, but unlike vinyl the color runs throughout the entire body of the linoleum. Vinyl only has a thin wear layer of color that can wear out under heavy traffic.

Vinyl Flooring

Vinyl flooring was first offered to the public in 1933 and in the tough times of the Great Depression it's low price point made it a major competitor of linoleum. It was available in more colors and printed patterns than linoleum. Both materials are sold in either 10-13" tiles or large sheets that are cut to size for your particular room much the same way as wall to wall carpeting.

The biggest difference between vinyl and linoleum really is their chemistry. Whereas linoleum is an all-natural product vinyl is a product of fossil fuels. Vinyl is mainly a combination of Ethylene (a petroleum byproduct) and chlorine which adds stability and give vinyl its excellent heat resistance. Also, some vinyl made prior to the 1980s may contain asbestos. So, it's best to call an asbestos abatement specialist if you have old vinyl in your home and are thinking of disturbing or replacing it.

Vinyl is also king when it come to variety of colors and price, though linoleum isn't much more expensive, the price difference is noticeable in large quantities.

Which is Right

Which is right for you is really a matter of personal opinion. My preference is linoleum because of its eco-friendly qualities and longevity, but the low price and color variety of vinyl can't be ignored. Whatever you decide it's just good to know that the two are indeed different and that you now have a choice.

5 Steps to Best House Floor Plans Selection

House Floor Plans Frustration

There are so many ways to search for the best house floor plans for your needs it can be overwhelming. Have you been frustrated with the hundreds of house floor plan choices you have to try and sift through when you just type in information under a search option? Maybe you find house floor plans that look appealing but the exterior is all wrong for what you are looking for. Or maybe you go through the process of finding a plan you love only to be told it will cost too much to build in your market. Don't worry we have a clear cut process to help you walk effortlessly through the house floor plans selection process.

Understanding the House Floor Plans Selection Process

The process of house floor plans selection is basically the process of assessing your new home needs including topics like the number of bedrooms and bathrooms you will want or need? How many garage stalls will fit your lifestyle? And the biggest one of all is how many square feet should you build. Now there are other important topics to consider here but we will cover them a little later on. From here you begin the process of sifting through the thousands of available plan options.

Many people buy books offering a broad selection of plans only to be disappointed with the fact that they cannot easily narrow down the search to only plans that fit their needs. Hopefully you will choose to simplify this process with a system that helps you narrow down just the house floor plans that fit your actual needs. This is most easily performed with online plan sites. However there are pitfalls to this process also.

What Selection Mistakes Do Most People Make

Most people start the process by a best guess as to what size home they should build. They either pick a size range based on a floor plan they found and liked while randomly searching online or they tour a home they like and assume that it is the size that will be right for their needs. There are frustrating problems associated with both of these methods.

Another common problem is to decide on a certain style of home or number of floors because of a beautiful home you have seen or toured somewhere else without exploring the related other options. So what is the best way to start this process, you ask?

The 5 Steps You Need To Know

1. Research your current market building costs. Contact a local realtor or custom home builder and discuss the average cost per square foot to build a home of the style you like. Now understand that this will only be an average because they can't possibly guess your personal tastes and the finish materials are a large part of any new home cost.

2. During these same discussions ask questions like the cost difference to build a single level home as compared to a multi-level home. This is valuable information even if you are planning on a single level as your only option. The reason is that multi-level house floor plans costs are less per square foot and you may get more bang for your buck that way.

3. We are going to assume here that you have already looked into your financing options and have a good idea of the amount of your budget you can apply towards the actual building cost of your new home. Begin with this amount and deduct 10% right off the top. You will thank me for this advice in the end. Everyone goes over budget during construction, even the financial nerds can't control every little detail that comes along.

Take this net building budget and divide this dollar amount by the average square foot cost to build you got from the realtor or builder. Since I hope they gave you a low and high range this will give you two new numbers. These numbers are the low to high total square footage house floor plans sizes you should be searching for. If you choose to look at multi-level house floor plans then you will be comfortable on the upper level of this number since your cost per foot will be lower.

4. Create a list of all the spaces or functions you will need or want in your home. Many people confuse this with how many rooms do you need, we will get to that in a minute. It is common for people to feel the need for more specific rooms than they actually need once they assess how they can multi-purpose some rooms.

From here you will create a list of rooms like number of bedrooms and bathrooms that you need and this list might be slightly different than you originally thought of. This is a good time to entertain the question of whether you really have to have all the bedrooms on one floor or not remembering the concept that multi-level space costs less.

5. Understand that every online plan you look at can be customized for a very nominal fee when compared to the cost of your new home. It's worth a little to get it exactly right and there is no such thing as a perfect plan out there because there's only one you. They can change room sizes, add an extra garage stall, and even change the entire exterior style to look like a different home design style.

Finding Your Perfect House Floor Plans Options

Armed with these 5 time tested tips you are now equipped with the knowledge to begin the search for the best house floor plans to suit your home building needs. But this is only the beginning. Building a new home is a dream that thousands of people get to enjoy for the first time every year. Continue your search for valuable information to help you take the house floor plans you find and use them to take your dream home to the next step!

Simple Method to Earn More Money on ClickBank

There are many affiliate marketers who try their best to make some sales on ClickBank products. The truth is that there are some super-affiliates who are looking to recruit people to run the proven ClickBank offers, and they are even paying extra per lead or sale. Unfortunately, not all affiliates are lucky enough to find one of these programs, and therefore, they struggle with selecting the right offer and testing the campaigns. Here are some simple tips on how to follow the footpath of super-affiliates.

Competition - Good or Bad?

Some affiliate marketers say that competition is killing the business. However, if you look at this problem from a different angle: can you expect an offer to make you a killing if nobody else bothers to promote it? It is not likely. Therefore, instead of running away from the competition, you should find ways to beat other affiliates, no matter how hard it is. You might not be using the same traffic generation method and can still have a chance.

Learning from Super-Affiliates

You Can't Fool A Horse

In the dating world many men and women put their potential partners to a "dog test," whereby they introduce their date to their dog and see how the dog reacts to the stranger. If the dog reacts badly towards their date then a red flag is waved, whereas if the dog accepts the stranger instantly the opposite holds true. While many people look upon this test in a tongue-in-cheek manner, many dog owners actually do take it seriously. As they probably should!

Many animals, including horses, possess an uncanny ability to detect emotion as well as the inner nature of an individual. Whereas you may be able to slap a forced smile on your face and hide powerful negative emotions such as stress or anger from fellow humans, you won't find it as easy to fool a horse! In fact I consider horses to be natural truth detectors due to their ability to read a person's emotional state as well as their sincerity when it comes to a love for equines.

If one of my naturally friendly horses takes an instant dislike to someone out of the blue, 9 times out of 10 I'm going to respect my equine partner's instincts. Horses generally do not possess vendettas or have reason to target anyone for no real reason - they tend to call them as they see them. If a horse usually takes a liking to visitors but holds a sudden aversion to one in particular, clearly the horse sees or detects something that I may not have initially caught.

When a horse enjoys your company, you'll know it. When a horse trusts you, you'll know it. And when a horse actually dislikes you, he will make sure you know it. I often state that the world would be a much better place if people were as brutally honest as horses. But I digress...

A proficient horseman at work should be cool, calm and collected, three essential qualities to maximize the productivity of a training session as well as create an all-around positive aura over human-horse interactions. Keep in mind that you are the horse's leader, and as such the horse will take his cues from you. If you are agitated the horse will recognize something is wrong and either feel you are angry with him or you are annoyed with something else he cannot detect but probably should be also be concerned about. The horse will not be able to focus on the lesson or your requests well at all, nor will he be able to draw strength from you when he becomes concerned about a foreign object or behavioral request.

It is essential that you try not to visit or work with your horse when you are in a negative frame of mind since these undesirable emotions will disturb your equine partner. Try to take a few minutes, or even hours if necessary, to collect your emotions and clear your mind of life's daily irritants.

When we see a loved one is feeling down, it often puts a damper on our day too since negativity tends to breed negativity. The same will happen with your horse, so do not underestimate your horse's ability to detect your feelings.

Silver Investing - The Gold-To-Silver Price Ratio, And Why It Will Return To Its Historic Standard

As silver made its last run up to $50 an ounce in early 2011, it seems someone posted an article every week about the gold to silver price ratio. The gold-to-silver price ratio dropped to about 30:1 at that time. It had been more than double that little more than a year earlier.

I remember only a couple of articles about the ratio in the past year, and the suggestion was that at about a 50:1 gold-to-silver price ratio, it was time for silver investors to once again buy silver. Personally, I think the ratio will go considerably higher before it moves considerably lower. Why?

In short, with 50% of the annual production of silver being consumed by industrial demand, and signs of slowing economic activity worldwide, I believe the price of silver is going to drop even as the price of gold rises. Next, or perhaps simultaneously, inflation sends the price of gold skyward. If I am correct about the magnitude of the price moves, the gold-to-silver price ratio will move much higher than 50:1, maybe as high as 100:1 during this period of time.

When the price of gold reaches levels most will consider outrageously high and unsustainable, many of the middle class of the world will turn to silver to protect their eroding assets value from the ravages of inflation. This is the period of time when the gold-to-silver price ratio will begin moving lower, toward its longtime historical levels.

Why will it move back to the 17:1 range? Because price manipulation will cease, or maybe because of supply/demand forces? Those things will contribute, but they will not be enough. As an example, consider the platinum-to-gold price ratio. It is now less than one; that is; the price of platinum is less than the price of gold. And platinum is 30 times more scarce than gold. Why isn't the price of platinum 30 times higher than the price of gold? By the way, though the price of platinum was higher than that of gold for many years, it was never even double, much less thirty time the price of gold.

The short answer is that platinum does not, and will not have the huge investment demand that gold does. Although platinum is considered a precious metal because of price, it is a commodity, an industrial metal.

Silver has a history of being thought of as a precious metal. And even though it is much more of an industrial metal than gold, investor demand will jump-start the ratio downward. When that time comes, there will once again be articles about the gold-to-silver price ratio. Many reasons will be cited to convince investors that the ratio will revert to the historic norm. But it is not the reasons themselves that will cause the long term ratio to achieved.

It is the citing of those reasons, and convincing the investors that it is inevitable. With the price of gold in the thousands, and silver in the low hundreds, it will be the expectation that the historic ratio will be achieved that will keep investors buying silver until it does. And with so little physical silver, left (over 90% ever mined is gone forever), it will not take many believing investors to make it happen.

Tips on Becoming an In-Home Caregiver

Becoming an in-home caregiver is a major responsibility that comes with numerous duties. Should you decide to do so, there are a couple of avenues to consider. You could work through an agency, but you could also work privately, or look after a relative or friend. In some cases, you may tend to a patient who is bedridden, disabled, or has limited mobility. In others, you might work in a nursing home or convalescent center.

If you go through a home care agency, it is likely your name will go into a database, where relatives hire you based on qualifications, and how much you require per hour. To qualify, you may have to obtain various medical certifications, or become licensed and bonded. You will also want to undergo cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid training, if you have not already done so. If you previously trained as a nurse's assistant, it could also help your chances. Many agencies may also conduct a background check, since you are being trusted to look after a loved one. If you have a spotty criminal background, it could disqualify you from becoming a caregiver.

However, if you do not possess as much medical expertise, that does not rule you out. Families may also advertise for help needed on community bulletin boards, in the newspaper, or online forums. Sometimes, you can find work via a recommendation or word of mouth. Ask friends or family if they need help looking after a relative. Chances are if they are familiar with your background, it can help you find work.

If you are in college or high school and want to pursue a nursing career, consider interning at a local hospital or nursing home. By shadowing a caregiver, you gain the necessary experience from a trained professional, which can help set you on your way.

As far as personal responsibilities while looking after a patient, it all depends on his or her condition, as well as mobility. You will likely have to administer medicine every few hours, and monitor the patient's fluid levels. You may also have to bathe him or her and deal with bodily functions. However, do not let your title and duties limit you. Depending on whether you live in the home, you might have to cook and clean, so be sure to get a list of anything the patient may be allergic to.

As a caregiver, you may have many responsibilities. Taking proper care of your patient can not only help you gain a new friend, but also recommendations for future work. However, keep in mind, you are also a companion. Feel free to converse or play board games with your patient, as the two of you will get to know each other.

Hosting a Back to School Parent Night

It's fall and that means back to school time! Most every student is excited to meet new friends and teachers, and to see what this scholastic year is going to be all about! If you're a principal or outreach coordinator of a school, you know that back to school time is also the time when most schools host their first parent open house night. An open house is a time when parents get to meet their kid's new teachers and gather around with dessert plates in-hand to say hi to other parents and faculty. If you're in the process of planning your school's open house, there are a few things you can do to make it a special evening.

Get Teachers Involved

The first step in planning a great back-to-school parent night is to get all the teachers involved in making their classrooms welcoming and inviting. Be sure teachers are collaborating with art teachers or other creative minds to make fun art projects that can be shown off to parents. Something as easy as purchasing cheap table linens and having the students decorate them would be able to put a personal touch on a dull classroom and transform the room!

Get Your Supplies

Next, you'll have to determine how many parents will be attending and create a supply list for things like cloth napkins, food, and cheap table linens. Although you won't need much, it's always nice to have snacks, refreshments and a couple of decorations to get everyone excited. Snacks can be served on dessert plates, and can be accompanied with colorful cloth napkins. Set up some tables with attractive, but cheap table linens in a large meeting area, such as a gymnasium, so parents can chat with one another. And, in addition to having refreshments on tables with cloth table linens in just the gymnasium, you may want to consider setting up dessert plates, beverages and cloth napkins in each of the classrooms, too, in the event some parents can't get to the gym.

Once you have your décor and refreshments all gathered, it's probably time for the big night. Students love the opportunity to show off their work to their parents, so it's important to make this night special for everyone. If needed, don't hesitate to recruit the help of other teachers and faculty, as they'll probably be able to add to the list of party planning ideas. Back to school parent's nights are a great way to get everyone ready and geared up for the upcoming school year, so enjoy it!
